Jane Tattam:  Chairperson & Founder Member.

Born in Hull in 1955 now lives in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Began nurse training in 1973 and qualified as an S.E.N. in 1975.  After further training qualified as an S.R.N. (now known as R.G.N.) in 1979.

Her career has spanned 44 years working in a variety of surgical wards and operating theatres in the NHS and private sector, operating theatre practice being her favoured specialty.

Although the charity takes up most of her time, she can still take time out to enjoy being with her beloved dogs, walking on the North Yorkshire Moors and spending time with friends in the local pub.

Julie Meachen: Treasurer

Julie joined the charity in 1982 and is our Treasurer

Julie helped to raise funds in the early days of the charity and by 1984 became treasurer. She has worked to create and maintain a formal accounting and business structure for the charity culminating in the charity becoming registered in 1991.

Born in Hull in 1958, she worked in purchasing and logistics for many years before emigrating to New Zealand in 2002.

Now she concentrates on looking after a 3-acre section, 100 chickens, 2 alpacas and her 3 adorable cats and dodging the odd earthquake that shakes the house around. She also has business interests in Christchurch and the USA to keep her mind active.

The internet has meant that she has maintained her role as Treasurer even though thousands of miles away-The internet and Skype is a wonderful thing and manages to growl at the committee if they overstep the budgets.
